Download Manager Complete....

Hi Again,

Although BaBIE Releases are Stopped, Development Isn't. I have Completed the Download Manager, with all the Usuall Stuff. It took me about an Hour, and I could find it only Today.

And, I found a New Feature, from Avant Browser, Which is URL Alias. If i access blogger often, I'd give Blogger.com an alias of Bloger and if i type Blogger, I'd go to Blogger.com. Simple and effective.

And Avant has got so many Cool New Features, Check out My Main Blog at http://yuvipanda.blogspot.com for more details about the Avant.

Bad News For BaBIE..... Not From Me.

Hi Again,

BaBIE seems to have Bad Luck. I am Developing BaBIE with Visual Basic 2005 Express and Visual C# 2005 Express. Both are in Beta.

But, Unfortunately, I have hit a bug, which Makes it Impossible to Intercept Certain Important Events, Most Notably the OnBeforeNavigate2 event, From My Form. Also, The IDE itself Crashes Most of the Tims, Since BaBIE, even Now has 13 Projects, Mixed with VB.NET and C#.

So, I have No other Choice, But To SideTrack BaBIE and Start Developing the Auxilary Parts of BaBIE, such as RSS and Download Manager. I can Develop these Things in Isolation and Once the Bug is Fixed in VB.NET and C#, I can get Releases out.

So, i Won't be Stopping BaBIE Development, But, I can't get any Releases out since the WebBrowser Control isn't Working for me.

When the Express Editions finaly Mature, I can Just Release them Fast, Since All the Auxilary Components would've Been Finished.

Looking forward to the Final Version of the Express Editions........

Thanks and Be Right Back.

BaBIE is Back.....

Hi Again,

Good News for BaBIE. My Last Entry Introduced a New Project, But Due to some Friendly Reasons, I am sidetracking That Project and Continuing with BaBIE. So, That CTP release might be available by Middle of Next Month. It's Late since I am in 10th Standard and Lots of Pressure is being Put on Me.

Another Block.... And a Good One....

Hi Again,

Bad News for BaBIE. I've to Stop Development.

Why is that ? Is BaBIE Abandoned ?

Nope... Absolutely Not. BaBIE will NEVER EVER BE ABANDONED.

So, Why this Stop In Development ?

Since I have a Quick Project to Finish. It's called PandaYourFriend. It's a Friendly Yahoo Bot.

I'll tell You the Story Behind this. I am a Regular Chatter at the Yahoo Chat Room Programming:3 and have Lots of Friends there. Oneday, The Room was Empty and So, I spent some Time in Programming:2. There are lots of Friendly Bots in Programming:2.

We also have a Bot at Programming:3, But, Agni my friend, Who is the Creator of that Bot, is Busy with Campus Interviews...

And Someone at Programming:2 said that People at Programming:3 Don't have Enough Skills to Build a Bot. And Since Programming:3 was filled with Indians, I took up the Challenge and started Creating My Bot. And since I don't like the Word Bot, Since it looks Sooooo Mechanical, I used the Term "Friend".

And So, Ken_Poet4Life of Programming:2 was able to give me a .NET Yahoo Library and I started to Build My "Friend". It is a pretty Small Project and shouldn't take more than 24 Hours of "Development Time".

And as Soon as I finish That, I'd come back to BaBIE. And also, since BaBIE currently consists of 12 Projects, (7 VB.NET and 5 C#), It's crashin VS.NET Often. Since It's in Beta, I can't help it.... But, Soon, I should split it up and hope to get it up and Running..

And Becouse of my new "Friend" Project, the CTP Release I promised the End of This Month will be delayed. Sorry about that, But hope to get it out soon....

And, If u'd like to Join Me and Contribute to Project BaBIE, please Leave a Comment...

Thanks and Be Right Back

P.S. I'd like to thank Ken_Poet4Life of Programming:2 Yahoo Chat Room for his Yahoo Library. Thanks Ken.

But, I suppose I shall be able to get a CTP Release(Community Technology Preview Release) somewhere around the end of this Month. It Won't Be Complete, But Will Just give U a Preview of Our Browser. It shall Have the History, Search, Tags, Quick Launch and some others.

If You have any Suggestions, Comments, Cricticism or Anything, Just Leave a Comment.

School Starts... Project Slows....

Hi Again,

You Might've Noticed that Updates aren't Coming as Fast as they Should. That's Because School Has Started and with Karate Class Too, I can't Get Lots of Time on the Computer.

Anyway, I counted Time and I got Only One Hour Quality Time on the Computer. In it, I have Completed the Tags Component.

I have Got Two Days Holidays,(Today and Tommorow), So, I expect the FileSave Component To be Ready by Sunday Night.

Any Comments, Suggestions, Feature Ideas or even Collaboration Friends are all Welcome

More Stagnation .... And More Features !!!

Hi Again,

School had opened up, and I can't spend that much Time with my Project BaBIE again, But, the Amount of New Features I am getting from Friends is amazing....

My Friend, ridiculus_fish, an Apple Employee, who had already given me some Cool New Feature Ideas(See My previous Post), has today given me Even more Cool Ideas.

The Favorites and Bookmarks Features of Modern Browsers are not Enough. He explained to me the Concept of Tags, which seemed to me, a better way to organize Stuff, rather than Favorites and book Marks..

For Example, Let's Say You are Browsing a Site about the .NET Compact Framework used on SmartPhones and Pocket PCs. You can Tag that Site as ".NET Compact Framework, SmartPhones, Pocket PC". And Later, If you are searching for anything Related to SmartPhones, This Site Will Show Up. If you search for Pocket PC, too, It will Show up. If you look for .NET Compact Framework, This will show up too!

And there's more. You can lookup all Sites with Tags SmartPhone and .NET Compact Framework, and Any Sites that You have tagged as .NET Compact Framework and SmartPhone, This Site would Show up, But sites with only the tag SmartPhone won't Show Up.
This is called a "Tag Intersection"

It's a pretty Cool and Innovative Feature, and Thankx, Fish for Introducing me To it.

QLaunch Complete
Although the Project is Stagnating, I have managed to finish QuickLaunch. It's pretty simple to do, and didn't take more than an hour......

And, although I have completed Data, Trackx, QSearch and QLaunch, They are only Components. They Still Don't have any UI. So, if I say QLaunch is complete, It means the QLaunch Component is complete.... Completing the UI would Take Time...

Bye, and Be Right Back....

Stagnation... And New Features

Hi Again.

Project BaBIE has been stagnated for a week, since I am busy makin New Friends at Yahoo Chat. But I have got new stuff. LittleGreenD15 of Programming:1 in Yahoo for finding out about the Site Icon that is displayed for each Site..

And Thanks to ridiculous_fish, an Apple Employee, for his Valuble Suggestions and a Cool New Feature he had.

Fish had a cool New Idea. He suggested Improvements for the OneClick FileSave and PhotoSave Features and the Stealth Mode Feature (Which Safari, the Native Mac OS X Browser, has already got). He got a New Cool Features that would be Useful for Geeks Like me.

That Feature is called Edit and Continue. Let's take, for example, You are visiting a site. It plays some Irritating Background Music or the Font Size is too big or the Background gets on your Nerves or Whatever, If you don't like the HTML on that Page, You can just change it and the Browser will Just Load the Page with those Edits and the Page is what You Want! No having to open the source, Save it To Disk, and relod it.

And, in accord with His Suggestions, I have made the OneClick FileSave and PhotoSave Features both Configurable by Categories, and also, A No-Configuration thing, Where You Just Click a Button and it gets saved based on categories Created based on the WebSite and the FileName.

Thanks Fish for the Suggestions, and You have definitely made BaBIE a better one....

Any more features, Suggestions or Comments are most Welcome...
